International Exchange Programs
Language Skills and Global Spirit
Put into Practice Overseas
Know the world from the world
Go overseas at least once during your junior and senior high school years! This is an opportunity to practice the language skills you have learned and cultivated at Keimei Gakuen and be inspired by junior and senior high school students from around the world. Learning about the world will change the way you see it. We have prepared a variety of overseas training, international exchange, and study abroad programs so that many students can gain overseas experience.
Activities as a Member School of Round Square
Interacting with people of the same generation from around the world
Round Square is an international private school federation with approximately 230 member schools from 50 countries around the world. Member schools interact with each other in various ways, such as the Baraza event put on by high school student leaders for elementary students, student exchanges, and sending students to international conferences. In addition to interacting with member schools, Keimei Gakuen also holds leadership training sessions, social gatherings with students from around the world, and discussions with university and graduate students studying in Japan.
Round Square International Conference
Every year, an international conference is held at Round Square, bringing together high school students from member schools. The conference lasts for about a week and is conducted entirely in English. Participants join in discussions on topics such as the environment and international issues, research presentations, and activities to deepen their connections.
Exchange with Member Schools
In 2022, we held online meetings with high school students from the UK, India, and South Africa. This was a fruitful opportunity to "learn about the world" by introducing each other's cultures and exchanging opinions about the educational content of their schools.
Exchange Program
This is a program where you can study abroad at a Round Square affiliated school abroad for up to three months. In principle, tuition and homestay fees are free. You can also choose to study abroad in a non-English-speaking country.
* Several conditions must be met to participate in the exchange program.
Cambodia Sewing Project ~ Stitches for Riches ~
Student-Centered Service Activities
Since 2014, we have been working with the non-profit organization Asia Supporting Children's School Attendance (ASAP) to carry out volunteer activities. This project involves collecting fabric in Japan, giving it to Cambodian families who hand-sew the fabric products, and then selling them at our school festival. The students participating in the project meet every other week to continue improving their methods of support. In the summer, we also visit Cambodia and hold a work camp where we can interact with local people.
Joint Training Session Held with Seven SGH Network Schools
Our school is also a member of the Super Global High School network, and we hold joint training sessions with other schools conducting fieldwork in Cambodia. In 2022, our school served as the host school, and held a workshop to consider "wealth and poverty from the perspective of aid and donations." The regions and groups that receive aid and donations tend to be associated with "poverty." By reflecting on their own experiences and deepening their understanding of the perspective from which aid and donations are carried out, students took the opportunity to reexamine their own values regarding "wealth."
